Tallinn Music Week’s this year’s conference program features Pussy Riot, Robert Levine, Bob Stanley, and an opening by President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.

Vilnius International Film Festival (Vilnius IFF) „Kino pavasaris”, one of the most important annual cinema events in Lithuania, starts on 20 March. The festival taking place for the 19th time, offers a high quality film programme and a rich package of accompanying events, workshops, exhibitions, receptions and even educational seminars for school children.

From 21st to 25th March, Balticlab – a joint project by the Council of the Baltic Sea States and the Swedish Institute aimed at creating a network of interdisciplinary talent in the Baltic Sea Region, who collectively link the region, as well as act as future front-runners and innovators in their respective fields – takes place in Tallinn.

For the third year the City Stage sub-programme spreads festival buzz to unexpected and surprising locations. Music fans are invited to enjoy short exclusive sets that serve as a launch pad for many newcomer bands on the national and international scene, as well as hosting concerts by well- established artists. Free afternoon concerts feature 44 Estonian and 21 international artists on 12 stages.

New Museum led incubator for art, design, and technology NEW INC announced that the Museum is accepting applications for its inaugural group of members. NEW INC will launch in the Museum's adjacent building in summer 2014. The deadline for applications is April 1.

One of the most successful hip hop groups of all time, OutKast, returns to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and is one of the over 30 artists included as the first additions to Flow Festival 2014.

The Baltic Scene tour vol 2 will take place on the third weekend of February (20.-22.02) when electronic pop band Kali Briis Band from Estonia, psychedelic rock group Pyro Trees from Latvia and experimental indie artist ba. from Lithuania will perform gigs over one weekend in all the capitals of the Baltic states.

The conference Art & Science – Hybrid Art and Interdisciplinary Research will be held from 30 May to 1 June 2014 in Tallinn, Estonia. Anticipated are papers for 20 minute presentations on the confluence of art and science in the fields of hybrid arts, social sciences, design, urbanism, environmental studies etc. The main target group is doctoral students from different fields of research.

Latvian artist Ola Vasiljeva’s solo exhibition Jargot will run from January 24 – March 15 at Art in General’s sixth floor gallery, New York.

On Friday, the 10th of January at 6 p.m. Hirohisa Koike presents his work and latest projects at artist-run space Rundum (Okasroosikese loss, Uus 19, Tallinn).
