Kui eelmisel sügisel Kultuurikatlas toimunud Stalker Festivali kavast lugesin, et esmakordselt astuvad koos lavale Talis Paide ja Andres Lõo, olin kohe intrigeeritud. Ühest küljest oli see nii üllatav, sest mehi isiklikult lähedalt tundmata ei osanud ma sellist koostööd oodatagi. Teisalt pidin taaskord nentima, et kui on üliandekaid inimesi, siis tavaliselt leiavad nad ka tee teineteise juurde.

It appears that whatever Brian Cox, the frontman of Deerhunter, decides to pursue, it will be touched by a strange genius. Be it the premiere of the title song from Monomania on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon where he used fake blood and bandages to created the illusion of a missing finger – a nod to his father who actually had recently lost a few fingers in a saw-related accident – or him performing concerts in girly frocks.

The first time I heard Milo, I felt the same kind of elation that I felt for the debut album by The Streets – the freshness of the new and unknown, plus that special something that makes you want to listen to it again after the initial excitement wanes. However, unlike Mike Skinner, Milo's follow up to his debut (I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here), is still interesting and engaging.

Enne veel, kui olin teada saanud, et selle albumi kaasprodutsendiks on The Brian Jonestown Massacre’i ninamees Anton Newcombe, ja avastanud veel suurema üllatusena, et tegemist on soome bändiga, võlusid need kutid mind oma natuke kohmakalt välja kukkunud ülesastumisega Tartu muusikanädalal.

See võib olla album, mis voolab vaikselt kõlaritest, kui sõpradega Monopoli mängid, ent tõeliseks (kokku-/koos-)kasvamiseks sellega on parimaks aegruumiks hilisõhtune/varahommikune linnatänav ning meeleseisundiks midagi muud peale soovi mõnele magusamale kinnisvaraansamblile käpp peale panna.

Ükskord tegid eesti eksperimentaalfolkar ja jaapani lo-fi ilumuusika duo koos plaadi, mis oli äärest ääreni mängurõõmu täis. See ei levinud küll kulutulena, aga leidis siiski oma väärilise koha ahjuküttega kodudes ja rändajate kõrvaklappides.

Septembri lõpus tuli üheksakümnendatel hittlooga „Fade Into You” MTVs ja VH1s kuulsaks mängitud dream pop’i bänd Mazzy Star peale 17-aastast pausi välja oma neljanda stuudioalbumiga „Seasons of Your Day”.
